GE 323: State Space Design
Methods in Control
Summary:
Design methods;
time domain modeling; trajectories and phase plane analysis; similarity
transforms; controllability and observability; pole placement and observers;
linear quadratic optimal control; Lyapunov stability and describing functions;
simulation.
Prerequisites:
First course in
linear control (e. g. General Engineering 222, Aeronautical and Astronautical
Engineering 254,
Mechanical Engineering 240,
Electrical and Computer Engineering 386), and Mathematics 225 or equivalent.
Course Credit:
3 hours or 3/4 unit.
