Seminars in the Decision and Control Group

It is possible to automatically have seminar information appear in your calendar progam!

A copy of the seminar information is available in .ics format at this address:

http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/dclseminar%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics

This can be included in Kontact, ical, Thunderbird, Google Calendar and probably others.
Here is a rough guide as to how you can include it:

Kontact:

- In Calendar view, click the 'Add...' button on the lower left side of the screen.

- Supply an appropriate name and paste the above link into the 'Download from' box.

- Select 'Read Only'.

- Choose 'Regular Interval' for automatic reload. (99mins is adequate).

- Choose 'Never Save'

Thunderbird:

- If you have not done already, install the calendar plugin from:

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/calext/download.html

- Click "Tools->Calendar".
- In the calendar window, press "File->Subscribe to remote calendar"

- Add the address location given above.

ical: (For a Mac)

- Create a new Calendar (if you want - not required).

- 'Command Click' on the new Calendar and pick "Subscribe"

- Paste the above link, and enable the "Refresh" button (hourly or less frequent is ok)

Google Calendar:

- Click '+' alongside 'Other Calendars' on the Left handside menu bar.

- Search for a public Calendar "UIUC Decision, Control Optimization Seminar". Add the calendar

- Search for a public Calendar "UIUC Topics in Systems Seminar". Add the calendar

Outlook:

- Download and install a better calendar program such as the ones mentioned above.

- Apparently it is (finally - yey Microsoft) possible in Outlook 2007....."On the Tools menu, click Account Settings, and then click the Internet Calendars tab".

- Or, you might be able to just click the link above.

You can also get the calendar in an xml format using this link:
