Theorem: The circuit shown in the figure

is k fault tolerant iff

• the circuits formed by FGi can tolerate

(k-1) faults.

• For all patterns of k faults in nodes

the following must be true:

Fanin cone of a node A (denoted by FA) is the set

of all nodes from which there is a directed path to A

and the node A itself (and the edges associated with

them)
